....Why a relaunch....
Back in 2019, I wrote my first (and only) blog post. I was living in Queens with my dad and three little sisters, working a desk job I was pretty bad at—but learning.
Life was simple: $975 checks, hot meals, and my sisters screaming my name when I came home. I was new to everything. Including sex. Yup, I said it. That’s what I do—I tell my own business and write about what’s real. That’s why What the Hell’s Next was born.
This blog is my safe space. And now, it’s more than just writing. You’ll hear my voice too—literally—with audio stories, and a series called What the Hell Happened to You?, where I interview people on the same topics I’m writing about. There might be video. There might be chaos. But there will always be honesty.
Well, if you must know….
ABOUT THE NAME
The name came to me in a hot shower on a sticky June day. I had just graduated college, and on the same day, my family got into a car accident. They were staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Raleigh. I was still in North Carolina, half in shock (as I usually am when life throws a catastrophe my way).
I’d just earned a degree in communications and had no idea how to make it stretch into money. My college friendships were fading, I was living with my grandma’s friend in Chapel Hill, and I was standing in that shower with my hands clasped to my chest, thinking: “What the hell’s next?”
That question has followed me ever since.
WHAT THE HELL’S NEXT (NOW)
This blog is my safe space. I don’t have many of those right now—so I’m building one.
This time around, What the Hell’s Next isn’t just words on a page. With every post, there’ll be audio—me, talking to you, telling the story in my own voice. And some posts will feature a series called “What the Hell Happened to You?” where I go out into the world, interview people about the same topic, and explore it through community conversation.
There may be video. There may be chaos. There will definitely be honesty.
That little countdown in the corner? It’s when the next blog drops. Subscribe so you don’t miss it. Or don’t. If you unsubscribe, I still love you (but also… damn, that’s crazy).
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO SEE
This blog isn’t just words on a screen—it’s an experience. With every post, expect:
-Personal essays that are honest, emotional, and occasionally messy (on purpose).
-Audio diaries where I read each post aloud, so you can hear the heartbreak, humor, and hope in real time.
-Street interviews and visual storytelling in the series “What the Hell Happened to You?” where I ask strangers the same questions I’ve been asking myself.
-Video vignettes—little glimpses into what I’ve been seeing, feeling, and dreaming.
WHY?
Because I needed a safe space. Not just for me—but maybe for you too. I’m rebuilding what safety means through storytelling, humor, reflection, and creativity. Writing is the one thing that’s always felt like home, and now I’m inviting you in.
THE SERIES
“What the Hell Happened to You?” Each blog post will be paired with a field segment where I hit the streets with a sign (like: Tell me about your mother), spark conversation, and record what people are really going through. It’s part therapy, part documentary, and all heart.
